Well, the weekend has gone well.
Yesterday we had new neighbors move in upstairs. I thought I posted about it earlier, but the same day the truck got hit the upstairs neighbors moved/got kicked out. I'm not sure what exactly happened there, but the tenants weren't happy and our landlady was livid. Just from the few interactions I had with the upstairs people, I'm inclined to side with the landlady. We've had a few minor misunderstandings about dates and stuff, but nothing worth really complaining about.
Anyhow, we have new neighbors. A young couple and their young son. I think he's about 18 months or so. They seem really nice, although I haven't had a real chance to talk to them.
Anyhow, today was our Werewolf game. I made soup and I don't think I'll be using the recipe again. It was decent, but the general consensus is that we all like thicker soups, more like stews.
We had a very good time. We had a little spirit quest and ended up getting/choosing Bear as our totem. The real fun came when we had to face down four vampires. One of which was a real baddy. I kept one occupied for a bit while Kat kept the baddy occupied. Scott took down his dance partner with relative ease and then Stew and he took down the fourth. It was almost comic. Stew punches into the vamp and then Scott grabs him. They laterally tear him into two. Oops. I guess that's what happens when you've got two strong as steel big hairy brutes playing tug-of-war. Gak's trying to answer some questions, like where Kat's been and where he and Zoe are, but I think he's raising almost as many as he's answering. I think this will be a fun romp, I just hope we can keep moving forward with the story. That long break we had didn't help the flow any. We had a lot of fun today with the game and some enjoyable company.
Well, I'm half watching the Dresden files while I type and it needs my attention now. Peace to all and may you find something fun to do with your friends.

Friday blahs
Well, I didn't get around to posting anything else this week. It was an odd week. I was never quite sure what day it was.
Yesterday I had to come in early for a meeting. Nothing bad, just something that corporate says everyone has to attend. It was about an hour of corporate stuff and then on to my day. I was actually productive this time. I got a couple of quotes out the door and some other stuff updated.
Last night as I was driving home, on my way to the gym, I get a call from Kat. Where are you? Uh... about halfway home.
To make a long story short, she'd been having a bit of a rough day and was trying to deal with two customers at once and needed me to pick up Zoe. No problem! (*Sigh* I really was trying to get to the gym three times this week...) I tell Kat that we're having Boston Market for dinner because I hadn't taken anything out of the freezer and had already discussed this with Gak. Well, we have dinner and Zoe watches a little TV while we hang out for a little bit in the kitchen. Zoe never did find Jane this time, she hid well. It was a nice evening.
On Wednesday night we had a bit of fun ingame. They did a live update that day and added an are called the Estate of Unrest. Well, Charitee, Ulli, Gak and myself spent about an hour or two poking around in there. We had a lot of fun. The area looks amazing and is nice and challenging, without being impossible, for level 70 people. It would have been even more fun if the Rats had been along, but they're not playing much these days. Then we would have had the whole old crew and would have really been able to kick some zombie butt. As is, we had a lot of fun and got a chance to just hang out together. It was another enjoyable evening.
This weekend looks like it should be a good one as well. We've got another Werewolf session scheduled for Sunday. I'm making soup (and probably a loaf of bread too) again. It is supposed to be warm, but wet. Soup is good for either wet and/or cold days. I think I'm trying a tortilla soup recipe I got from Michelle last time I was down. I get to put it in the crockpot and forget about it. I like those kinds of recipes.
Next weekend Steve will be home from Iraq. Actually, I got an email from him overnight and he's on his way to Florida right now. I can't wait to see him. We're going out Saturday for something in Philadelphia at the Art Museum. Something about a 'murder in the museum' mystery party and then dinner. I just feel bad that Gak won't be able to come because he has to work. Wednesday Steve is hosting a dinner at one of the local pizza places and we'll both be there for that. He's only home on a mid-tour leave, but it will still be good to see him. I may not write him anywhere near enough, but I do worry and think about him. The army is lucky to have someone like him on their team.
Well, I've got Friday type things to be doing here at work. I just thought I should post a bit on the happenings (and procrastinate a bit). Peace to all and please, remember to tell your friends and family how much you care as often as you can.
Oh, I almost forgot. My Gram had a procedure done on Monday for her kidney, the one with the bladder cancer. Everything went well, the doctor is very happy with the results. She'll have to go back again in a couple of months to check everything out again to see if the cancer has come back or not, but that's OK. Having to go to the doctor every few months to get a kidney checkup isn't as bad as some of the alternatives. Mom was down there to play chauffeur and cheerleader.

Week in Review
It is Friday. I'm glad that it is Friday. This means I have a weekend ahead of me. I like weekends.
This week really wasn't all that bad. Work wasn't as productive as it could have or should have been, but I'm OK with that. They did feed me lunch today. This week was corporate's Engineers Week. Oh boy, we get to celebrate for an entire week all things engineering! It wasn't all that bad really. I was involved in none of it really. Corporate did recognize our products for an award this year, which means that we're finally being noticed outside of our group. I'm not sure this is a good or bad thing, but hey, whatever. All I know is one of the guys who got recognized really deserved it for all the work he's done. The others on the team did a lot of work, but this one guy has done the work of about 7 I think. Today was a lunch to celebrate. The guy from Virginia who's now running our engineering groups (SW and project) decided it would be much nicer (and a better PR move) to feed everyone instead of just taking the engineers out to lunch. I think he was right. I mean, a little thank you or appreciation that a lunch or even a cake or something can make a crummy week/month/year not so bad. It means that someone actually was paying attention, at least for a little bit. He seems to be a nice enough guy, this guy from Virginia. I just hope he can understand our product enough and our existing process enough to make it even better. I know there is a lot of room for improvement, but I just don't want to see it get ruined in the process of making it better, if that makes any sense.
Home has been nicely uneventful. I've been playing on the computer a bit, but not so much. I miss having Gak in game with me. I mean, for the longest time, we could never play at the same time, but there was always 'someday'. Since June we've been able to play together. Now we don't. I still get to see my friends and hang with them, but it's different now. I didn't think I'd really miss him in game or even notice really. Maybe it's just because I've been home the last few weeks. I guess part of it is now I don't have much drive to level Zeri because Ahri is already 2 levels behind and we were growing them together. Who knows. I still enjoy the game and my friends, but something is missing now.
Speaking of games I realize I never did give an update on how Sunday went. Well, despite fighting off a headache, Kat seemed to have fun. We all went out to dinner (well, not Stu) last night and she said she enjoyed herself. I didn't kill Stu. I didn't kill anyone. I went from 'being the one with the most invested so the one who made the final decision' to a passenger. Just like RL I guess. I don't mind, at least not much. We did have fun and it will be fun to see where things go. I am a bit worried though. Gak went in early Wednesday to work and spent the time creating more plot outlines. We're in trouble! But it will be so much fun!!
You may have noticed, but there is a Flickr stream on the sidebar now. I had a photobucket account, but couldn't link it to the blog. I can with Flicr. So now, instead of just getting one or maybe two pictures in an entry, you'll get to see the most recent 5 photos I've uploaded. You can even follow the link to see everything I've posted to Flickr. I hope to get a replacement for my digital soon, so I should hopefully be posting more pictures.
Well, I guess I should wrap up the wrap up. Peace to all and may you have a good weekend.

Spinnerstown Saturday Night!
Well, this weekend has been a good one so far. I actually did my 'normal' Saturday routine and even went to the gym!
This weekend is my sister's birthday. Last night also happened to be "Island Night" at the Spinnerstown Hotel, with Craig Thatcher playing. It's always great to go see Craig, even more fun when it is Island Night. There were about 5 of us who went, and Mom joined us for a little bit as well. We didn't stay out too late, but late enough to have a great time and hear some really good music.
I don't have any pictures as I didn't bring my camera and we were sitting almost behind the band. We had fun at any rate.
Today the gang is coming over here and we're finally picking up the Werewolf game again. I'm really pretty excited, as my sister is going to join us as well. All I know is that where we left off, when I find out what Stuart did, he's toast. Or at least Scott is going to have to do a lot of quick thinking to talk me down from this one. It should be fun. We'll see.
I'm just glad that I have Monday off for Presidents Day. Even though last week was really messed up time-wise, it is still nice to have a three day weekend.
Peace to all and may you have a great rest of the weekend.

Where wolf?
Yesterday was about as chaotic as the rest of the weekend.
We were supposed to get together around 1 or 2 for the game.
Let's just say that instead of getting a nice long gaming session in, we got a late start and ended early to go to a movie.
We saw The Prestige. It was really quite good. I enjoyed seeing Hugh Jackman as someone other than Wolverene. I mean, there were a few moments when you could see Logan come to the surface, but it took me almsot 10 minutes into the film to figure out who was who. Christian Bale did a fabulous job as well. This movie had great acting, a solid story and wonderful cinematography. It was done all in very muted 'vintage' colors, which set the time frame wonderfully. If you only have 2 of the 3 qualities, the one that is lacking will pull the other two down.
The only real downer (other than paying an arm and a leg to see it) was our one friend over analyzing EVERYTHING! I mean, I'm almost used to him doing it in game. "Ok, make a decision in 5, 4, 3,...." but gah! I was sitting between him and Gak. He did fairly well throughout the movie, but when we were all walking out... grrr. It's a good thing I didn't see it after he did. He'd probably spoil it without trying. Oh well.
Today I leave for Alabama. I'll be there all week. I'll try and post something, maybe even a picture. I still think it's funny I'm going down there when that's where our Werewolf game is set at the moment.
Well, peace to all and have a good week if I don't get a chance to post later.

Adventuring Again
I meant to post yesterday. Yesterday was felt like a lost day, but in reality, I got quite a few things done.
Friday night I took Meera out for a spin again. She's now level 29. Gak and I went adventuring. Actually, we joined the same two of our 'Fallen Knighthood' friends with their level 33-ish alts. Everyone mentored down to my level and we kicked butts and took names.
We were killing things in Nek for a while. We then decided to go to this dungeon zone off the Commonlands, Fallen Gate. We were quite disappointed at first, even though everything was heroic, it was all very green.
We weren't disappointed for long. We found several named enemies and I think we scored a total of about 4 master chests and some other very nice drops as well.
To make the night even better was the fact that as everyone else was logging, Thorny Butt logged in. He brought is 30-ish Necro on and we went and killed in Nek for a while. It was great to catch up with him. He, Niz and I used to be inseparable. Neither of us have seen Niz in a few months, which is slightly worrying. Although, knowing him, he fried his computer again. I always enjoy hunting with Thorny Butt (Ok, so he doesn't' have Thorncastle anymore, but the nickname stuck...). We end up having good conversation and good hunting. We both missed it. Hopefully we'll both have time online together soon. He's been doing a lot of work and been spending time guiding on a different server. He's enjoying it much to his surprise. Almost as much as I enjoy raiding to my surprise.
Yesterday was pretty good. I started on my grandmother's Christmas present. It's looking really pretty. I'm sure she'll love it. I got all my normal Saturday things done as well.
My parent's framed a large print for Gak and I, that I had ordered, to hang over the sofa (they own a framing gallery), but couldn't fit it in the trunk of their car to bring it to us. That's OK, it gave us an excuse to go have good, or at least better, Chinese food. The places around here are more like 'fast food Chinese' than real sit-down Chinese. So after Gak got done work yesterday we drove down to the mall near us and then wandered over to their shop. The picture turned out great! It's a very large Monet of water lillies. The colors are great for the living room. Now the challenge will be to hang it. Oh well, I'm just going to tell Gak where to put it and then not watch. (I tend to try and 'fix' things he's doing while he's in the middle of it... much easier if I just go away...)
This afternoon we've got our friends coming over to continue the Werewolf game. I'll let ya know how it goes.
Peace to all, I'm off to steal a little computer time. Enjoy the great fall weather!

Finally Friday!

Ok. So it doesn't' really feel like a 'finally' Friday. I'm not sure what day of the week it is. This has been a messed up week, time wise. Monday and Tuesday was my whirlwind trip to Canada, eh? Then Wednesday was an almost work day that turned into a non-travel day. Yesterday was spend putting out lots of little fires and today, well... today has been an almost boring Friday. (The opposite of this photo-shopped picture of some flowers I did a few years back...)
We had a department meeting this morning. To confirm that yes, one of the manager types (not my old boss) had left. That's about all we got out of that one. I've been away so long and so often I hadn't really noticed! He will be sorely missed though. He has, probably, over 20 years of knowledge in this field.
Other than that, I only had one real task today and that was to get a quote out to a customer. That took about all of 10 minutes since it wasn't anything weird this time.
I'd post some pics from the MD Faire on Saturday, but I had my film camera with me and haven't gotten the film developed. (I'm hoping someone(s) will be nice and give me BestBuy gift certificates for my B-day and/or Christmas this year...)
This weekend should be an almost quiet one. Tomorrow will be my normal Saturday. Well, maybe... I'm thinking of trying to find a yarn store I found on the web that's near here. Michael's and JoAnn's both have a decent selection, but it's all pretty well... ordinary... boring almost. I don't know why, but I've been yarn crazy these last few months. Oh well, it keeps me out of trouble on long flights. I need to find some other things to sew. I love my new machine, but don't have much to use it for at the moment. Maybe I'll find me a neat shirt pattern and some fun fabric. Who knows.
Sunday the guys are coming over again to continue our Werewolf game (I wish Michael and Chelsea in MO could make it... they're fun to have in game). What's funny is the fact that in the game we're in rural Alabama, near Mobile and next week I'll be outside of Birmingham, AL.
On a different game note, I brought out my 20-is Ranger Kitty last night on EQII. Two of my friends have level 30-ish characters and we got together with Gak mentoring down. Well, I didn't get much XP at first because we had a 36 in the group to help one friend (Charitee's alt) finish up a quest. He then left when that was done.
We all headed over to Nek and promptly kicked butt and took names. I ended up going from 25 to partway through 27. It was very nice to change characters, although I kept trying to be my healer self and kept looking for my heals etc. Oh well, I'll learn. Or maybe it's re-learn since this was my primary before I found Addey.
Well, enough rambling by me... I'm off to find something a little productive to keep me occupied.
Peace to all and have a good (and hopefully sunny) weekend!
